We have settled in. Everything is unpacked and has found a new place
in a new home. It's been almost three months. The kids are getting
ready to start school on Sept. 6th. First and foremost I miss everyone
more than I can say. Even though I've gotten used to the house and the
neighborhood, it doesn't feel like home quite yet, but I know that will
take time. I knew being away from my family would be the hardest part,
and it is. No more just jumping in the car and running over to help out
when I'm needed is difficult to take sometimes, but I talk to my
parents every day, and I keep in touch with my brother and sister by
text and phone calls periodically. That's what they need is their weepy
sister calling all the time!! LOL!! I do like it here very much, tho.
The landscape is so beautiful and it's a dream leaving your windows
open 24/7. The people are incredibly friendly. No matter where you go,
you can strike up a conversation with a stranger and before you walk
away, you can consider them a friend. It certainly is a wonderful place
to live. Jake has gotten a job working at a restaurant called Dockside
in the Coeur d'Alene Resort. He is a busser and enjoys it very much.
Beth and I go on a "deer drive" every night and count how many deer we
see. Last night we were up to 48. We love it. Dave has never been
happier. He loves his job and the people he works with. He knows this
was the right decision and hopefully in the middle of winter when we are
snowed in, he will still feel that way.
