The 2008 Wiener-Nationals......

......Where you have to be man enough to put your wiener on the line! What an absolute HOOT!! We had the best time at this event. It's a fundraising event each year held by the Adopt A Greyhound foundation. We were able to take Argus as a "coach" being that he's small dog safe. He got to wear the racing jersey and Dave walked him in the opening parade. The wiener dogs raced in between each of the actual greyhound races and after the parade, we took our dogs upstairs and did PR for the AAGI to help raise awareness for rescuing retired greyhounds. It was a blast. We ended up taking Hustle along too since we'd only had him for a day and they didn't want us to leave him home alone for that long just after getting him. He did great too. So many people were enamored with his coloring and with how gentle Argus is. I think we may have convinced a few people to at least look into adopting greyhounds in the future. And watching the wiener dogs race was absolutely the funniest thing ever! Made even all the funnier when you have a friend who enters her dog and you get to watch her race. Literally! Her dog didn't run, so she ran down the course with him. She came in 4th and the dog came in 5th. It was awesome!
