We're Adopting!

Don't panic! It's only a dog! We've decided that we're finally ready to get another dog after Thunder's passing this past September and we've put lots and lots of thought into it. We always thought we'd go with another lab mix of some kind. We even considered Great Danes, German shepherds, Weimeriners, and looked through the gamut of local pet rescue agencies to find just the right one. Quite a few years ago we had considered Greyhounds but had forgotten about them, until our trip to the vet with Sammy this past Friday morning. The vet tech brought to our attention what great pets they make and it reminded us of our previous interest. We immediately went home and got online and began researching. We found the Arizona Greyhound Rescue which is housed right out at the Phoenix Greyhound Park. So Friday night we went and took their tour and class which teaches you about the lives of greyhounds so you understand what they go through in their life. It's really an amazing story. We've since learned so many interesting facts about them and are looking forward to getting our first dog. We were given 3 dogs to choose from and they are posted here. The first one is Charlie, a 3 yr old male, the second is Chatoyant,a 3 1/2 yr old female, and the third is Shebang. We have chosen to adopt Shebang. He is a 4 year old male, Fawn (color), cat safe greyhound. The keywords here being cat safe. So next Friday, we will go back to the Greyhound Park and pick him up. We can't wait!!
