Summer Fun in So Cal

We were fortunate enough to enjoy some fun in the sun in California. We used Uncle Paul and Aunt Kate's house as our base of operations but were able to make several day trips. We went to Paula and had a personal tour of a gem mine. We went to San Clamente to see an old high school friend and his family who we also hooked up with at Disneyland. Disneyland was a two day trip and we spent about 27 hours in the park in about 36 hours. We got our money's worth. We had some friend's who now live in California come to visit us at the beach and gave some free surfing lessons. There had been numerous sting ray incidents in the area so the kids learned how to do the "sting ray shuffle" to enter the water to avoid being victims. We also made it down to San Diego Harbor and toured the Aircraft Carrier Museum. It was a great trip and we were sad to leave, but are looking forward to going back when we can spend some time with our hosts.
